This excellent pub is a hidden gem in the Essex countryside. We don't know how we found this one, but it's worth the trip out of London on a Sunday. It has a normal pub bit with a dining area off it, as well as a separate restaurant. The beer selection is good with well-kept beer on tap and a decent wine list which won't break the bank. If you want to eat here, it's worth booking as it does get busy, particularly for Sunday lunch. It's a fab pub to while away a lunchtime in, and it's worth a visit at other times too. Excellent food and good-sized portions, too. Only downside being that if you want to go here and you don't live in Toot Hill, someone's got to drive to get there!
